Prayers 

A week ago, a dam at an iron ore mine in south east Brazil collapsed, killing more than 80 people. Hundreds more are still missing – please pray for the community who are searching for their loved one.   

Please pray for the homeless in our towns and cities sleeping on the street at this time of year.   

Filling Station meets on Tuesday 12th February at Lochiehead, near Auchtermuchty, KY14 7EH. We start at 7.30pm with coffee and tea, home baking and chat, before our worship begins around 8pm lead by Chris Whyte and band. Our speaker is Don Esson from Compassion UK. There will be an opportunity for anyone who would like to receive prayer before we finish around 9.30pm.

Guild, meet on Wednesday 13th at 2.30pm in the Parish Centre. Topic – Oor Mither Tongue, speaker – Dorothy Armstrong. All welcome.

Ichthus Housegroup found themselves in a position when there were going to be 16 people gathering every two weeks to worship God and do a biblical study. After discussion regarding this large number of people it was agreed that this group would divide. A new housegroup now exists and is called East of Eden. We would like to invite anyone interested in joining this group to contact Hazel. We meet every 2nd Mon from 7pm until 9.30pm at 9 Ashbank Gardens, Springfield, at present we are 6 in number should you wish to come along call Hazel on 01334 659 025 or email hazelyork@mail.com we would be delighted to hear from you.

Come learn everything you’ve ever wanted to know about Westminster Confession of Faith – and more! The St Andrews Presbytery is hosting an education event on Wednesday, 20th February, beginning at 7:00pm in the Old Parish Centre. Please let Jean know if you plan to attend.

There will be a Church Family Lunch and Guild cake and candy stall in the Parish Centre on Sunday 24th February. Donations for cake and candy table will be gratefully received. Contact Jean (652 100).

Women Walking with God conference takes place on the evening of 1st March and full day of 2nd March in Edinburgh. Tickets available at https://womenwalkingwithgod.co.uk/ and please speak to Jill L or Jacqui regarding group going from Cupar Old.

Fairtrade: There will be no stall at the Lighthouse during February. The next one after that will be Thursday 7th March during Fairtrade Fortnight. Consider swapping one of your regular supermarket purchases for a Fairtrade version. 2019 Cupar Fairtrade Town Trail coming soon. Cupar Justice and Peace Group warmly invites you to the annual Ecumenical Lent Group. This year we will be using the York Course – ‘When I Survey….Christ’s cross and ours’. The course comprises 5 weekly sessions commencing in the Lighthouse at 7.30pm on Tuesday 12th March. Join members of the local Cupar churches in this preparation for Easter.
